 Ryan has been a vital member of the Breakaway Music Festival touring team since day one, serving as a cornerstone of the main stage lighting department. As the festival travels across the country, Ryan plays a crucial role in managing the installation and execution of large-scale lighting systems, helping transform each venue into a fully realized live production experience. His technical expertise, relentless work ethic, and ability to adapt to the demands of a fast-paced touring environment make him an invaluable part of the team.  In 2025, Ryan Smarr joined D4vd’s Withered World Tour, taking on a role within the touring production team as the show prepared to hit the road. With a background built on hands-on experience and a passion for the technical side of live music, Ryan brought a practical, solutions-oriented approach to the production process. His time with the tour offered another opportunity to work in a new environment, collaborate with fellow industry professionals, and continue developing his craft in the concert touring world. Although the tour was cancelled before its full run could take place, the experience remained another chapter in Ryan’s ongoing journey through live entertainment, an industry that continues to challenge him, push his abilities, and fuel his passion for the work.

 Ryan Smarr will take on the role of Lighting Director for Haunted Fest in St. Petersburg, Florida, bringing his experience in large-scale festival production and concert touring to this Breakaway-affiliated event. Responsible for overseeing the lighting production, Ryan will help shape the visual atmosphere of the festival, translating the event’s unique identity into an immersive main-stage experience. With a background rooted in hands-on technical work and a deep understanding of the demands of live production, he brings both creative vision and practical expertise to the role. His appointment marks another step in Ryan’s continued growth within the festival circuit, building on his ongoing involvement with Breakaway and his commitment to creating memorable live experiences through lighting.
